Workshop on Skill mismatch: measurement issues and consequences for innovative and inclusive societies

The Department of Economics and Statistics “Cognetti de Martiis” of the University of Torino and the LABORatorio R. Revelli – Center for Employment Studies, are pleased to announce the workshop on Skill mismatch: measurement issues and consequences for innovative and inclusive societies. The workshop stems from a two-year research project on the relationship between labor market reforms and skills formation and aims at presenting its main results to the scientific community as well as to promote the exchange of research ideas and results on human capital formation across different disciplines, including –but not limited to– economics, sociology and political science. Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome. Christine Trampusch, Professor of Political Science at the University of Cologne, will give the keynote speech on June 29.

Deadlines. Deadline for submission of abstracts is May 14. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by May 28. Deadline for workshop registration (for both presenters and audience) is June 25.

Conference fee. Up to a given number of participants, no conference fee will be applied, with priority given to paper presenters and Ph.D. students. A conference fee of 70€ will be charged on the remaining participants. The program includes workshop materials, meals and a social dinner on June 29. No travel expense will be covered.

Venue. University of Torino, Campus “Luigi Einaudi”, Lungo Dora Siena, 100/A, 10153 Torino – Italy. The workshop will start in the early afternoon of June 29 and finish at lunchtime on June 30.

Ph.D. students are required to prove their student condition. All participants are invited to notify their willingness to participate into the social dinner at registration.
